We are committed to the health, safety, and wellness of Newport News Fire Department personnel. Our work directly supports the members through critical funding, enhanced training, and morale-boosting programs. Our overarching goal is to advocate for and promote the facilities and programs that elevate operational readiness and make Newport News safer for all residents.

Ninety-five percent of the City of Newport News' fire budget is allocated for personnel costs, leaving only five percent to cover vital equipment and tools for the Newport News Fire Department (NNFD).
Addressing that five percent gap means keeping NNFD firefighters safe by purchasing life-saving equipment, ensuring access to robust mental health support, and funding other critical needs that keep them functioning at the highest level.
The Foundation was established with this purpose in 2015. As the official nonprofit arm of the NNFD, we channel corporate and community support into tangible resources that help firefighters protect the people of Newport News.
Meet the dedicated men and women who protect our city. These stations are their second homes, and our mission is to ensure their environment supports their continuous service and recovery.
